10 days through 5 ecosystems. Designed for travelers and photographers who want to experience Costa Rica through its wildlife, birds and tropical landscapes.
Each stage brings distinct species, landscapes and photographic opportunities.
10 days designed to observe, wait and photograph — not just to cover distance.
Private airport transfer to the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belén. The first afternoon is for settling in, organizing equipment and preparing for the days ahead. A first photographic walk through the property gardens is possible.
After breakfast we depart for Sarapiquí, one of Costa Rica's most important regions for bird and wildlife observation. First photographic outing through trails and forest areas, taking advantage of the first and last hours of light.
We begin before dawn for peak bird activity. A specialized nocturnal walk offers completely different photographic opportunities — the forest transforms entirely at night.
After a final session in Sarapiquí we journey toward Monteverde. The ecosystem change is visible as we ascend from tropical lowlands to cloud forest. First exploration of the surroundings at Senda Monteverde.
We depart early with specialized guides. The search is oriented toward the Resplendent Quetzal, one of Costa Rica's most iconic mountain birds. Every effort is made to maximize the opportunity.
We transfer to La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano zone. The landscape shifts from mountain cloud forest to warmer humid tropical forest. An afternoon outing introduces the new ecosystem.
A complete day dedicated to wildlife. We start early for birds and mammals, with enough time to stop, observe and wait for natural behavior. Late afternoon may focus on volcano landscape photography.
We leave Arenal for Caño Negro, one of the most distinctive ecosystems of the expedition. The forest gives way to wetlands, channels and lagoons. An extraordinary wildlife refuge unlike anything seen so far.
We depart early for a boat exploration through the Caño Negro wetlands. The boat provides access to areas where land observation is far more limited, offering a privileged perspective for photography.
Depending on your international flight, a final short observation walk is possible. Private transfer back to the airport — a fitting close to 10 days across Costa Rica's most representative ecosystems.
“This is not about covering Costa Rica quickly. The idea is to have time to observe, wait and photograph.”
